Here’s Captain Mike, your guide with a 20 plus inch Smallmouth caught and released. I grew up in Tomah, Wisconsin, where I fished the many cranberry marshes in the area. I moved to the Wisconsin Dells area over 30 years ago. I’ve hunted and fished all my life and over the last 30 plus years I’ve gotten to know the areas many lakes, rivers and streams. I fish the Coulee Region of South Western Wisconsin, also known as the driftless area which is famous for world class brown and brook trout fishing. The Wisconsin River known for walleyes and small mouth bass. Lake Redstone for crappies, Mirror Lake for panfish, bass and walleyes, Devils Lake for trout, and occassionally Castle Rock Lake to name a few. I spend the majority of my time fishing the Wisconsin River between the Castle Rock and Wisconsin Dells Dams. I volunteered as an EMT with the Dells / Delton Ambulance service for 13 years. I am Basic First Aid, CPR certified and insured. I took a nautical academics course and became a United States Coast Guard licensed Master Captain. I also do stream trout fishing. We will go to the Coulee Region in Vernon, Monroe or Lacrosse Countys where we’ll fish one of the areas many streams or a combination of streams. This is a short drive from Wisconsin Dells. We may go into the Kickapoo Valley Reserve that's known for it's trout fishing and scenery. You will want to bring your chest waders for this trip, on some streams, hip waders will do. Fly fisherman will want to bring their own fly rods and flys. I have spinning gear and will provide bait for the live bait fisherman. For the catch and release fisherman I will assist you in landing your fish and photographing if desired. For the fisherman who wish to keep their fish, I will assist you in landing your catch and then it will be immediately cleaned. The early catch and release trout season runs from early January until the regular trout season opens on the first Saturday in May. The regular trout season runs from the first Saturday in May until the middle of October.
