She had a bite and set the hook. As the rod started thumping and doubled over She yelled, "This is a big fish". This "fish" wasn't giving up easily and refused to come in without a fight. After a little coaching on how to fight a big fish, she started bringing the "fish" towards the boat. After a little speculation on what it could be, we were all surprised that this "fish" wasn't a fish at all, but a big turtle. After netting it and getting it in the boat, there was a little joking going on, it didn't take long for her to jump to the upper deck of the boat, as she had all intentions of going home with all her toes. I tried to get her to hold it, but she would have no part of that. Then there was a short photo session, and the turtle was glad to be released back into the water.
