The morning was a little warmer than normal, when we launched the boat into the Wisconsin River on this September morning. We were looking for the five and six foot monsters that lurk in her depths. We started out fishing a deep hole known as a sturgeon hangout. He loaded his hook with a gob of nightcrawlers and sent them to the bottom. After a while the line twitched, and the hook was set. Was it the five footer we were looking for? It quickly became apparant that it wasn't, but he was proud to have caught his first Sturgeon ever. Him and his buddy each caught their first sturgeons ever, with several others boated. A few "bonus" catfish were landed as well.
Just glad to be on the water
