Allison put the biggest fathead minnow in the bucket on her hook. She threw it out with a small split shot placed about 18 inches above it, so the minnow would flutter and struggle slightly on it's way to the bottom. The reel and pole were set so line could easily be pulled out of the reel. She couldn't hardly wait for that first bite. Then suddenly, the line went tight and started shooting out of her reel. She set the hook, and after a short battle, she had her first trout, a 15 incher. She caught her fish on a lake not far from Baraboo, Wisconsin just a short drive from Wisconsin Dells in Sauk County.
