A happy four year old with a 18 inch, 3 1/2 pound small mouth bass (his first). He caught this one all by himself fishing with Knitt Guide Service near Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, on the Wisconsin River between the Castle Rock Dam and the Wisconsin Dells Dam, often referred to as the upper dells. His dad was teaching him how to jig, and he was using a power bait bungee leach when this fish hit right next to the boat. Dad tried to help him by trying to hold onto his rod, but he would have no part of it, it was all or nothing for this little guy, and he did it all by himself. Back at the boat landing, when we met up with mom and grandma he made sure and showed everybody his fish and told his story to whoever would listen.
