Captain Mike for the most part doesn’t put his boat away. He fishes all winter long, weather permitting. It isn’t unusual to see him fishing for and catching Walleyes below the area dams or walking a stream catching trout in the Driftless area throughout the winter months. In fact, January and February are some of his favorite times to be out. Here’s a young man with a nice Walleye that fell into the no kill slot and was released. Walleyes from 20-28 inches must be released on the Wisconsin River.
